CHIEF OF ARMY STAFF’S PASSING | MATTERS ARISING
The death of Nigeria’s Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant-General Ibrahim Attahiru has triggered comments from Strategic Security Consultant, Captain Aliyu Umar (RTD).
Umar who spoke as a guest on Silververbird’s News 24 political programme, ‘’News Scope’’ said the army officer had feats to his name and he had no doubts on his capacity to do the job, when he was appointed.
Although he stated that Nigeria as a country seems to shy away from excellence; emphasizing that if excellence wants to be commanded, the country should work the talk.
On his solution to insecurity, he revealed that Nigeria needs people who can measure up with their pears anywhere on the planet.
Lieutenant-Gen. Attahiru who was killed along with 10 others including aides and crew when the aircraft they were traveling in crashed in the northern state of Kaduna, died in an air force plane crash, four months after being appointed to the post.
