Five die in Jigawa auto accident, others injured
Five person were confirmed dead, while others sustained various degrees of injuries in a fatal motor accident in Taura Local Government, Jigawa State.
An eyewitness told DAILY POST that the accident happened on Tuesday in a head on-collision, involving two Golf 3 wagon at Nomi village, along Kano-Gujungu road in Taura Local Government.
Spokesman of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps, NSCDC, CSC Adamu Shehu confirmed the incident.
According to him, the fatal motor accident involved a Golf 3 wagon driven by one Alh. Kabiru Muhd, 55yrs who was coming from Gujungu to Taura and a Golf 3 wagon driven by 45 year Kailua Saudi of Kiri village who was coming from Kano to Gujungu.
He explained that on reaching Nomi village in Taura, they had a head-on collision which resulted to the death of five persons, including 60-year-old Malam Sallau and 65 year old Zulyadaini Muhammad, while the remaining three corpses are yet to be identified.
The NSCDC spokesman added that those that sustained various injuries were rushed to Ringim General Hospital for treatment, while the remaining unidentified corpses were deposited at a mortuary in the same hospital.
